He is the world’s leading expert in decorative Japanese metalsmithing and the only non-native ever to have been adopted into the Japanese tradition. His work is held in prestigious collections such as the V&A and Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Museum in Kyoto, Japan.
From this comes much of the decorative technique we employ in our work. Our jewels are textured using Japanese Kinko techniques; working the metal with hammer, punch and chisel.
Isabella has a particular concern for colour and tone in jewellery design. She was shortlisted for designer of the year in 2016 and this year has been selected as one of the top 100 female entrepreneurs for 2022.
Inspired by historical references from ancient metalworking, we pour for hours over detailed photographs of antique pieces, gaining inspiration and insight into our rich heritage.
