Imagine saying your vows and giving your partner a ring you made with your own hands - it;'s truly the most magical thing. I am an award winning goldsmith and artisan jeweller and I have been teaching people to make their wedding rings for over 15 years, well before it became all the vogue! You can be sure that your rings will be lovely, it's terrible for business for you to make rubbish ones! I will work with you every step of the way to help you create your perfect wedding rings. We make sure your rings are exactly what you want and show you all the techniques and goldsmithing tips you need. Our calm and easy tuition will make your day something you remember forever.
Some people have a clear plan of what they want and some people like to have a play on the day to look at different textures and techniques. Your ring can be made to fit around your engragment ring, and can be any size or shape - because I make all my own gold alloys on site I dont just buy in the metal ready for you to use like most of the wedding ring workshops, we have a whole stock of what you need, and if I don't have it I can make it up on the spot.
My studio is set in beautiful grounds of Cockington Court, a stately home in the rolling hills of Devon, only one mile from the sea. Lots of couples come as a mini-break and we can recommend lovely B&B's to suit any budget.
Cockington is lovely to visit for the day, my studio is in the stable yard, next to glass blowing which you can watch at lunchtime and a working blacksmith! There is even an artisan chocolate shop you can visit.
We have a cafe on site where you will have lunch which is included in the day. The menu has sandwiches and paninis, cream teas and jacket potatoes, and lovely home made cakes. They cater to all intiolerances and allergies. (They also have ice cream!)
You can make your rings in gold or silver, the silver is included in the workshop day price and gold is charged on the day by the gram weight. We can discuss beforehand budgets for metal but as a guide a 9 carat ring could be around £300 and an 18 carat one around £600. If you want rings in platinum or palladium then we can cast the ones and I charge and extra £75 for this service.
I make green gold, peach gold, grey gold and all sorts of beautiful things! I have a booklet of different rings people have made which I can show you once you have booked and we can talk on the phone and email before you come.
At the end of the day you get a glass of prosecco each to celebrate your achievements.
It really is the best day and you will remember it for ever. It's my favourite thing to do and something really special, I feel really proud to be able to offer this to people.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
We will be re-opening our Wedding Ring Experience Days starting from July. Classes take place Monday-Friday any time of year beyond that point and saturdays are negotiable for an extra £40. All tools, metals and equipment are provided. We give full safety instruction on all our processes and machinery. Our tailor-made days can be guided by you and you can make any kind of ring you like.
We provide a lovely homemade lunch cooked in the onsite cafe at Cockington, and we can cater to any dietary requirement. We also include a glass of Prosecco at the end to celebrate. (we recommend waiting until you have finished making your rings!)
Please bring an apron that you don't mind getting dirty and wear closed toed shoes for health and safety reasons. Long hair must be tied back.
VOUCHER DELIVERY. An e-voucher will be delivered to your registered e-mail address once your order has been accepted by the seller if you want it (normally 24-48 hours after purchase). If you choose an optional voucher pack, this will be sent by post to your chosen delivery address; see the top of this page for estimated delivery dates. Your pack will contain a printed gift envelope, wallet and printed voucher and will be delivered free of charge. I prefer not to send out paper vouchers unless they are a gift because I am trying to be a paper free business. Do let me know if you need one.
